| This work shows the reader, as a beginning Web page author, what they need to know to get a Web page up in the shortest time possible, using the tools available for free on services like Geocities. These services allow the user to graphically create the Web page they desire using online tools, without hours of coding HTML and without any specialized software programs. It starts out introducing the reader to the fill-in-the blanks, template-driven tools, and then moves into the steps necessary to design, create, and publish a page from scratch on the World Wide Web. Knowledge of HTML is not required, nor is any kind of special Web page software. All the reader needs to get started is a computer (PC or Macintosh), an Internet account, and a Web browser. |
