Photoshop Elements X focuses on how to use Elements to accomplish the most frequently requested tasks in digital photography. The original release of Elements introduced the concept of recipes--step-by-step instructions that show the user how to accomplish specific tasks using the program. Unlike traditional help files, which are tool centered, recipes are task- oriented. This book is divided into general categories, each general category contains recipes that are short and to the point. The purpose of this organization style is to allow the reader to quickly jump to the part of the book that contains the exact recipe they need without having to wade through lengthy textual descriptions and lame puns. Adobe has suggested they would like to make some of these recipes available through their web site on a monthly basis. Some of the advanced techniques in photo editing require learned skills. To teach these techniques, short tutorials are provided using photos that are on the enclosed CD-ROM. Examples of these techniques include: removing an old boyfriend from your favorite picture, restoring color to a sun-faded photograph, and creating your first web page.
