| In R5 the first thing that developers will notice is the new, task oriented UI. It includes advanced application development tools and enables developers to use third-party development tools to write applications and create agents. Built in Web design constructions include- Page Designer, Frameset Designer, Site Outline Designer, embedded views and navigators, and has industry standard programmability, with Java, JavaScript and HTML 4. Designers will notice that a lot of the new features are traditional Web technologies brought into the Domino environment, for example, framesets and pages. R5 will now provide a wider spectrum of tools from existing, power-oriented tools like forms and documents, to new, easier-to-use tools like pages, which are a great place to start if a developer wants to make a Web page in a way that is already familiar to them. This book concentrates on teaching the skills of developing Domino databases, mastering the use of design elements, and introduces the new built in Web constructs of Domino Designer 5. |
